Healthy skin is glowing skin.
But aging, sun exposure, and stress can take away your vibrant complexion and manifest as wrinkles, discoloration, and blemishes. These problems are not merely superficial — they can deeply affect how you feel about yourself.
Thankfully, such complaints can be treated effectively with a chemical peel. This cosmetic treatment involves the application of acid solutions to the skin, resulting in mild and controlled injury. This causes the damaged layers of the skin to peel off and reveal your natural glow underneath. The type of chemical peel we offer at Bespoke Rx is suitable for all skin types and skin tones; although, you will first need to be evaluated to rule out any contraindications.
Chemical peels are a non-invasive treatment that can treat a range of skin issues and improve your skin’s appearance. They can correct signs of aging, reduce inflammation, minimize pigmentation and photodamage, and rejuvenate the skin.
What Are Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are based on acidic solutions, which injure the skin in a controlled manner and lead to the peeling of the epidermis. Once the skin begins to heal, healthy cells resurface for a refreshed and smooth look. Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium or deep depending on their depth of penetration. The stronger the peel, the more pronounced the results.
In addition to acids, some chemical peel treatments involve the use of retinoids, skincare ingredients that boost collagen and elastin production. Collagen and elastin are essential for the skin’s integrity and firmness.
You may need to prepare in advance before undergoing a chemical peel. Also, plan for downtime, as it can take several days for your skin to start looking normal. During downtime, you will need to follow directions from your provider to ensure your skin is healing properly.
Ideal Chemical Peel Candidates
At your first consultation, your provider will assess whether you’re a good candidate for a chemical peel and take you through the procedure. If you have lighter skin, you’ll need approximately four to six weeks to
pre-condition. Or if you have darker skin, you will need approximately twenty weeks to precondition for your scheduled treatment.

What Chemical Peel Treatments Are Offered at Bespoke Rx?
At Bespoke Rx, we offer the ZO® 3-Step Peel™.
This is an innovative, in-office treatment developed by ZO Skin Health, Inc. As the name implies, this peel involves three steps:
- Peel Solution The 17% salicylic acid, 10% trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and 5% lactic acid solution penetrates the top layer of the epidermis, causing it to peel. The solution contains saponins and glycerin to minimize inflammation and boost hydration.
- Retinol Creme 6% This medical-grade cream boosts healthy skin cell turnover and collagen production. It can even help the skin fight against DNA damage. Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and is one of the most effective, cutting-edge anti-aging topical solutions today.
- Calming Creme The prescription calming cream was specifically developed to relieve redness and irritation post-treatment. It also helps hydrate the skin and support its barrier function during the recovery phase.
The ZO® 3-Step Peel™ is a medium-depth chemical peel, meaning it penetrates the entire epidermis. It can improve acne, large pores, sun damage, and dullness, among other complaints. After you’ve received one or several treatments, you may notice a reduction in fine lines, improved hydration, smooth texture, and even skin tone.
What to Expect During Treatment
At your first consultation, your provider will assess whether you’re a good candidate for a chemical peel and take you through the procedure. You’ll need approximately four to six weeks to pre-condition your skin for your scheduled treatment.
The skin is first thoroughly cleansed in preparation for treatment. Your provider will then apply the chemical solution in multiple layers. You may feel a warm, tingling sensation during this stage.
The chemical solution is left on the skin for a short amount of time, and then retinol cream is applied on top, followed by hydrating cream. The chemical solution has made it easier for retinol to penetrate your dermis, where it is needed to stimulate cell turnover. The retinol cream also contains antioxidants and DNA-protecting compounds.
Your skin may feel slightly raw and appear inflamed after treatment, and by day three, you may notice significant peeling. During this time, you need to avoid direct sunlight and stick to skincare products provided to you at Bespoke Rx. We may need to repeat the peel to achieve or maintain your desired results.
How Much Do Chemical Peels Cost?
The cost per treatment is $350. We may need to repeat treatment every month for the best results. How many treatments you should undergo mainly depends on the skin condition being treated. During the consultation, your treatment plan and pricing will be discussed.
